Whaddaya wanna know that for? You going to steal my name? Well, I ain't that stupid, I know these things. I know all about you people stealing names and doing things to them. You ain't doing funny things to my name. If you really wanna a name for this thing... lessay... let's go with Akkik. Do funny things to that one, I don't care.

A teeny bit older than the one whelp after me, a teeny bit younger than the one before me. Dunno.

Funkoi: I made a woman pregnant, who was married to another woman. She gave a birth to twins and another of them came to me to be my karate student. We don't have any god, because we don't consider the first Buddha as a god, we just follow his footsteps. And why I am Buddhist, that religion came from my mother and I think it suits me well. 42. And also, the second thing that is worse than killing someone is if you make somebody injured so badly, that his or her life will be hard to live for the rest of his or hers life. They taught us to fight each other. To kill. They noticed I was good at it, so they taught me more. I learned the tricks. It got me through alive. Shouldn't complain.

Okay, story time. There was one this one raid. I never bothered to find out why. Some small tribe in some backwaters. I figure they were in the way some way. A mine maybe. Something like that. Stubborn idiots shoulda just gone off. Anyhow. I and some other sell dogs go at it, a small army almost. No prisoners, no mercy - no warnings. The first fall easy enough, then they start pushing back. Tough and desperate, got some wounds. Still too strong and big to care. Death and screams. I got these three sellswords with me. I'm hacking at some poor shit, they charge off to something. I finish my kill just in time to hear the screams.
A woman, a blade in both hands. Slashing like possessed, screaming. All three die fast. She spots me, charges. Damned fast, stomps up from some boulder, leaps like a storm a' blade down upon me. I don't think, I got my axes. Can't make any sense a' it. I swing, she swings. We collide, an' for a moment I dunno who's dead. Starting to think I'll fall when her belly and mout explode into bloody showers. Her guts follow. I cut her open, she falls like a wet sack.
Anyhow, the point. I look her over. She's not young no more. But what's funny, is her face. I expect agony, pain, disbelief, whatever. She just looks content. She had time to feel it, I heard the grunts. And yet she looks happy. Split open and spread around like a damn fish and happy. Thing is, I never did learn why. Maybe if I knew how she'd done that, found something good about it, this could all be easier. But I never did. Never will, likely...
34. What is the most embarrassing or shameful thing ever to happen to you?
What? Oh. Uh. Dunno why I'm telling you all this, but whatever. I was supposed to end this one kid once. Damned fool wasn't much older than that one there. Just old enough to actually know some life. Gotten into his stupid head he'd make a great bandit. I was a bit older already. I'm protecting a caravan. We're on a bridge. He's gotten two already, with this rag-tag little band. And now, he's coming at this one. They're paying well for the head. Easy money to snip this one at the bud. And... just no, can't do it. I spent much of the time I've got maintaining the equipment. Sharpen the axe, make sure the mace's all good and the handle's holding, stuff like that. And practicing. Been thinking about picking something up. You know, a hobby. Eh, it'd fill some empty space. Less time to get all gloomy. You know... been thinking about trying to learn some smithing. Working metal. Certainly know what makes a good blade, it'd be nice to make them too. Might get some coin outta it. Just needs a forge, I guess. Eh, and I like smoked fish. Cheese if You've got any.
As for possessions. Well, don't got many. Most come and go. Weapons break, sometimes you leave stuff behind. But I got my mace right here, still. First real weapon I had. It's broken sometimes. Gruut! I raised Gruut since they said I was supposed to since I was a ratherd! I took the biggest whelp I could find and then I raised it big and strong! And I named it Gruut since that's a big, strong name to make it even stronger. And now he's a big, fat, smart rat! I did good, didn't I? Yeah, I did pretty good.

Umm... sometimes I think I maybe shouldn't have left. It's kinda scary sometimes. But I dunno, not really. I try not to have any, regretting isn't nice. I hit Spyro once and that was bad but... he was alright so it's not that bad! It was still pretty bad though...

I grabbed one of those small spiny worms once. I was real small so I didn't really know, but you really shouldn't do that! It really, really, really hurt and I was hairless for a long time and my skin went all blistery and it was really bad and they made fun of it...

Um, don't tell Gruut, but I ate that one porkchop that was actually his and... oh, not like that. I don't know, maybe they're really secret and I don't know either? Except that one thing, but that's a secret so you can't know it...

Oh, uh, I think it's the knife. Yeah, it's the knife. But that was an accident and I didn't know what would happen and I would have died otherwise! But it's still my fault...

I once thought Gruut died. But Gruut can't die! So he didn't and it was fine. And I thought that Spyro... got hurt bad, but Spyro's tough too!

Yeah, I travel all around all the time. I don't really ever stop, either. Well, I do to eat and sleep and do stuff, but you not, you know, for a long time. I just wanna see all around and what's what. I've been to all kinds of places, too! Some were nice.

Um, somebody told me I'm "khaotekguut". Is that a good one... I mean I can change if it isn't!

I think that everything will turn out well if you just stick with it long enough. Eh, sometimes the world doesn't agree but... but I'd like to think it's still true. You know?

Well, there's the... wait... four of course! I kinda like Issa, Issa's a good one and that almost sounds like Iksaa. But we had this boulder near the camp and they always said there was a god inside, so I think I believed in that one, too. They always painted it good and made it smell real nice in the summer. Look, I took a bit of it when I left! Maybe there's some god in there, too... But I don't think it's actually doing anything...

They say you have to get eaten to die well. I ate somebody once so I think he died well...

Dying is pretty bad. But I think if I die, I won't really feel anything after so... I really don't want to see Gruut die.

Um, I'm angry when something bad happens. Or sad maybe. That's how it works, I think. And good things make me feel happy, like when I found a really tasty crab once. I made a little thing from the shell too!

I don't know, people are pretty bad... I think I shouldn't think too much about them, they hurt my head. But rats are always good! You just gotta know how to pole them! With a stick!

Ehh... I don't like tics. They make you itchy and suck blood and all that. Dunno what "poli" is, but it's probably even nastier...

Umm, a life's a life. I think the other things aren't that bad but you shouldn't kill unless you need to. Or... someone else needs to. I mean, I helped a few people since some others were being nasty to them and those others died but... but they were bad men! It's a good thing then, right? Isn't it?

That depends, right? I mean, I believe you shouldn't eat seeds since they might grow up inside you but... I don't think I need to really fight for that, right? I don't think you should hurt anyone for something like that stuff anyway, though!

Well, I play with Gruut a lot. Or not play, exactly. More like... trying to make Gruut not eat anyone or something like that. And I kinda like purple, since it's not a real colot unlike these "reds" and "greens". And smoked fish is nice.
I have a spear, but... uhh... it always gets lost so I have another. So I don't think the spear's my favorite... I have that stone from the god-boulder so that might be a good one! It's pretty, too! And... I had my knife but then it went bad and... it's not a good thing any more.
78. What are your preferences in arts and/or entertainment?
Umm, arts are pretty... pointless, really. I mean, I dunno why they're important. They don't really... help anything. Although I guess the god-boulder looked pretty when they painted it. Eh, is that a thing? Boulder-painting? I like that.
79. Do you smoke, drink, go whoring, or use drugs? Why or why not?
Well, I... tried a few things. Some of them felt good but then they said they cost a lot of money. And I didn't have any money and then they made me feel bad anyway. But wine's good, if you only drink a bit. Then it feels nice. Feels bad if you drink a lot.

What's a saturday? Anyway, I guess like every other day? Days are just days, right? I mean, if it rains I'm under a tree and if it's sunny I'm not and stuff like that.

In the kingdom of Sedestia. I have a home there, in the capital Friesburg, but I rarely go there. I am not particularly patriotic.

Sebastian and Leliah Terr, my father was a hunter and my mother took care of the children. Both were people who upheld old beliefs.

Reinhart and Theo. Last I heard Reinhart had become a priest, and Theo a soldier. They are nothing special.

A hunter of sorts. Some would call me a bounty hunter, but I hunt a lot more than just people.

190 cm or close to it, I weigh quite a bit, but it’s mostly muscle, don’t ask me how much. Haven’t really gone ahead and weighed myself.

I bathe when I see it necessary. Usually before heading to civilization after a hunt. Don’t wear perfumes.

When I was around ten, I was out gathering firewood when a wolf appeared. It was slightly injured, and thin. Obviously hungry, and separated from its pack. It attacked me. I killed it with one of the sticks I had been gathering. That inspired me to become a hunter.
32. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
I have yet to achieve my greatest goal, but so far I’d say the slaying of the beast of Gradspiel.
33. What is your greatest regret?
Not managing to kill the old dragon Spartacus, before that whelp Cain did it. I will hunt him down for that.

How do you define evil? Although I guess when I once beat a man half to death in front of his family was a bit despicable, even if he had a bounty on him.

A long time ago, before I had even become a true hunter yet. I was hunting a bear that had been killing livestock, and it noticed and attacked me before I managed to attack it. I survived, the bear didn’t, but I haven’t really been afraid after that. I have learned to suppress that emotion.
38. Have you ever traveled outside of your country? If so, to where?
I have done that often, although mostly they have been short trips. Now I am embarking on a longer trip when I’m hunting Cain. I hear he is going to Myrksea, so that’s where I’m headed too.

Optimistic. I always catch my prey eventually.

I believe in the god of the hunt, the Great Kochov. My family has always believed in the old gods of our nation, and as a hunter, it is natural for me to serve the god of the hunt.

I was born in Drache Loche, the volcanic mountaint that is home to most of our race. I have a home there, but I'm a traveller for now. I do not know if patriotic is the correct word, I am loyal to my race - but not so much to the Iron King, the king of Sedestia, who technically also rules over Drache Loche. Only technically. The human has no power over us, though I guess we did help him get his throne. His creepy mage ally convinced our lord somehow - glad that guy's dead nowadays...
4. Who are/were your parents? (Names, occupations, personalities, etc.)
My father, Tazch'zha, was a soldier - sadly he died during Sedestia's civil war, killed by forces loyal to the old king. My mother, Len'kchack, leads an educational center. She is rather sad nowadays, due to my father's death - but she is nobleborn, and keeps her sorrow private. ((nobleborns = the bigger fire kobolds))
5. Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like?
I have two elder brothers, the most stuck up lizards you'll ever meet. Also two sisters from the same hatching as me, they are nice, and they protected me from my elder brothers jests when I was but a whelp, what with them being nobleborn like mother.

I am a Seeker! It is a great honor, it means I have a sacred mission to find the bearer of the Serpent Amulet - and give him an invitation to come to Drache Loche, and also a special gift of sorts.

Around one-and-a-half meters, but I do not know how much I weigh. ((a bit over 100 kgs - fire kobolds are made of heavier stuff than humans))

I do not have hair - but my horns and thorns are bone white. My eyes are red and black.

Humans call us fire kobolds or greater kobolds.

I am not quite on the bottom rung, maybe middle class? I do not know if that is the correct human equivalent.

Amongs my kind, I'm not that attractive. Not ugly either, though. If I had bigger horns, I'd be more than decent enough... bah.

Rather simplistic, usually a black tunic. Of course I also have my belt, a gift from my lord when I was sent on my mission.

I have red stripes on my snout...? Does that count? It's not really a rare quality amongst my kind, but I suppose it makes it easier for humans to recognize me?

I've heard humans describe my voice as 'creepy'. I don't know what that means.

Varied vocabulary, although I guess I don't really know all the terms humans use - and our kind does have our own language too, that's different from the one usually used by humans.

Umm... I tend to have a somewhat laxing attention span. Hmm. I really don't know what humans would consider 'quirky', as my kind and humans are so different perfectly normal behaviour for us may seem utterly bizarre for humans - and the other way around.

Not that often. Perfumes would be pointless, since I don't have a good sense of smell.

Humans declare my basic expression as 'smug grin'. It is not a smug grin. *pouts*

Nothing humans would notice. I tend to hit the ground with my tail in rapid succession when I get real happy, that's one humans usually notice.

Not really. I do tend to wonder at how humans go about doing things.

My sisters hugging me. I think it was after my elder brothers had done something nasty.

Somewhat more than the standard amount our kind gets. I did enjoy it, our kind usually enjoys increasing our knowledge.

I learnt most of my knowledge about the world, literacy and so on in the educational facility my mother lead, and I learn to fight first through the lessons my father gave me, and later by the Seeker trainers.

Happy, and humans would probably consider it rather long. But our society is more family-oriented than yours and we live longer lives anyway.

Bigger! Then later when I started thinking more rationally, I wanted to become a diplomat or something that goes out in to the world. And now I'm a Seeker, so wish granted!

I haven't really had anything other than kisses given from sibling or maternal love. And I'm unlikely to get much more, what with our kind having far less females than yours.

Yes, I am a virgin. And as I said, probable to stay one, I am not great paternal material so it is likely I'll stay one.

My grandfather was one of the key figures in developing the idea of Seekers. I hope I can make him happy, now that I am one.

Learning new things makes me happy, knowledge is something our kind enjoys amassing. Someone attacking or threatening innocents makes me sad, that's just wrong. There's not a lot that makes me angry.

Good and evil are stupid concepts, but our lord has stated that whatever someone is at their core, they can change it. He should know, what with, you know.

Gambling is incredibly stupid, and lying is unnecessary. Thievery's a bit of a weird concept for our kind, thieves are really rare among us. I understand that some humans can't really live otherwise, so I suppose it is acceptable in some situations? I don't really understand the thing. And killing, while something to be avoided, is necessary at times. It is not really evil atleast.

I will fight for them if necessary.

Money is, again, one somewhat weird concept for me, so I don't value it that much.

I do not have that many, but my best friend might be Trech'zul. He's the nobleborn commander of Seekers, and he is a fine fellow. Pretty well. Seeker position is prestigious, so it helps.

I love the taste of this one salamander species native to Drache Loche, even if I've been eating them ever since I was a lil whelp. Haven't had one for a while now, oh well, too bad. I like human cakes too.

I don't really have any preference - but I once saw a human play, that was fascinating, even if I didn't really understand it.

Oh, hello. I'm Haekli. Just Haekli, really. No nicknames. No real last name either. I come from a small village, nobody really had any last names there.

Well, I come from the Taunar Highlands. It's far away and long ways in the east, along the edge of the eastern frontier. I was born in a small water town. Quiet place, nothing much there, really. I suppose it wasn't a bad place to live, and I don't have too many bad memories of there. Well, except some big ones... But now I'm not really living anywhere. I just kind of... wander, I suppose.

My father's name is Dolo. He's a carpenter. I... suppose he was quiet and reserved. He told me that it was important to choose a time and a place for your words. And... well, I suppose he always did. I don't really know anything about my mother, but she obviously wasn't from around there.

No, not really. I was the only child, and even then, I obviously wasn't from around *there* either. Eh, I had some cousins though, so I had company. Sordu was around my age, so we played together the most. I always went along with him, and he got us into all kinds of trouble. I... suppose it was only due to him that I'm here now. Eh, that's not fair though. It's just that... well, I think he's doing much better now. He always wanted to be an Emerald Swordsman. I'm sure he's getting there.

Eh, I'm a lot of things. It's a bit confusing, actually. My father taught me his trade, so I suppose I'm a carpenter, or at least an apprentice, but then I'm also a geomancer. You know, one of the, um, "adepts of the form". I suppose you can earn a living like that as well. And... I'm also a soldier. Or at least, I've been trained in that. Even if... no, sorry, nothing.
But right now, I'm just wandering, I guess. I mean, I've fixed furniture and such for a few bits, but that's not really an occupation, is it? Eh, I suppose I'm not being useful at all right now. I'm just wondering and... trying to figure all this out.

I'm a bit short. Not really short or anything, but shorter than most. I'm pretty lean too. But I'm not really all that light, really. I'm... sturdy, in a way. Bony, kinda. Still, I'm short and not really all that heavy, to put it blutly.

My hair's pretty clear red. Not red like... well, like most. It's just a clear, stark red. Kinda like a red rose, maybe. And my eyes are... well, they're yellow, but I guess they're strange otherwise as well. I mean, they're a bit like... lizard eyes, really. Just all yellow and black little pupils. I don't know if that makes me see any differently. They're my only eyes, after all. I don't think they're too different, though. I mean, I see the same things as others.

Well... that's something I don't really know. It's obvious my mother wasn't a human, though. I mean, I'm all ashen black and there's the eyes. And the ears. I don't really know what exactly I am. Eh, there were some like that back home. Close to the frontier, there are always those with... different blood. I don't really know.

Well, I was a craftsman back home. And... well, then I suppose I was a soldier. And now I'm not really anything, I guess. Just a wanderer. I don't think there's social class for people like that, since, well, there's not society. Sometimes I wonder if I could be a craftsman again, though.

Eh? I... don't know. Sorry, I don't really have any idea. I... maybe? I haven't really had time to think about that. I don't know if anyone ever thought like that. I guess my cousin was always pretty popular. Maybe I was too weird...

Since I'm travelling, I just wear plain clothing. Something that'll survive a bit better and doesn't need fussing over. I don't mind better clothing, but... well, it's not too practical and I wouldn't have the money either. Right now, I'm wearing just plain half-length pants, this old shirt and my leather vest. Since I can make those pretty easily, I just use these simple wooden shoes. It's something I've picked up over time. It leaves my feet a bit more open and that's, you know, a good thing for a geomancer. Which I am, like I said.

Some scars, yes. Uh, I'd rather not talk about those too much. They're... from bad things. No tattoos or marks, but I suppose I'm... unique enough anyhow. Unfortunately.

Not really. There's a scar in my left hand now, and it stings now and then, but other than that, not really.

Three things? Well, I guess I look a bit strange, but you're asking about personality and such, right? Um, well. I wouldn't really know about that. I guess I'm just not that quirky.
19. How often do you bathe? Do you wear perfumes?
Yeah, I wash myself when I have the chance. It's good to be clean, and you can get really dirty on the road. I usually just wash myself in rivers and the like. Someone once told me that the cold water is good for you, but I wouldn't know. But sometimes I rub my hands with flower petals. It makes them smell a bit nicer.
20. What kind of facial expression do you commonly wear (dour glare, wry smile, etc)?
Ehm, I guess people say I often look careful and surprised. I guess I am, a bit at least.

I mostly just use hand gestures, I guess.

Not really, no. Maybe I'll get one at some point. I guess you have to come up with some tried and true observation about life or somesuch, after all. I'm still just looking, really.

I'm not really sure. Maybe it was when my father gave me a small wooden horse. I remember playing with it, at least. He made it himself, being a carpenter, and I had it for a long time. It eventually broke down, but it was important. Eh, I certainly remember crying about that.

I mostly just learned carpentry back home, and basic letters and such. I suppose it wasn't bad or anything. It felt important. But later, in the Academy of War, and as a geomancer, I learned a whole lot more. Back then, all that felt really important and meaningful. Like it all had a purpose and I was exactly where I needed to be. But... well. I suppose things just don't work out that simply.
25. Where did you learn most of your knowledge and skill?
Well, like I said, I learned my craft back home, and most of the other stuff at various stages of my training. I... suppose I'm still trying to learn many things. It's a lot harder now, with nobody to simply tell me what to learn and do.
26. How would you describe your childhood in general?
It was peaceful, I guess. I mean, just an ordinary childhood, really. I guess I was always kind of the weird one, but it was a small town and the people didn't change, so suppose it simply became everyday life. We spent most of our days by the river. Sometimes, Sordu dragged me along for something. He always wanted to see new things, so sometimes we went pretty far. And we always got into trouble for that.
27. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I don't really know. I suppose I always thought I'd just take up my father's craft and that would be that. I guess it felt sensible.

Um, well, I guess I've done that. But maybe I should keep that to myself. Sorry, it's just not something I want to talk about, really.

Well... yes. I suppose it just never really... happened. Ehm. I mean, there's never really been a time or a person. Just... INFLUENCES
31. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
Um, well, there have been some. But if I had to choose, I'd rather go with the... less horrible one. And that would be when out small town was attacked by monsters. Um, yes. I know that doesn't really sound like the "less horrible one", but still. It wasn't that unusual to see a weird thing near the town, since we were close to the frontier and the rangers don't patrol there too heavily. Taunar has its own military for that, but things slip by from time to time. But this time, it was much worse. Goblins and the like, everywhere. I was maybe 16 at the time.
I would have just hid away, but Sordu was there, and like always, I got dragged into it all with him. He wanted to do something, said we had to help the others. And I guess I just followed him. I had a long stick, and I just swung at anything that got too close. I don't remember too much about it, but Sordu apparently did a whole lot, and I was there with him, so I guess I was part of it as well. A few months later, some men from the Academy of War came and told us that we'd come with them. And that was, more or less, that. We'd showed promise, so we'd be trained as elite soldiers. We didn't have any say about it, but... eh, back then, I suppose it sounded like some big, important, great thing to achieve. It just felt... right.

Well, uh. There... there was a small village, and I got involved in a mess I really shouldn't have. I was lost, and confused, and I was trying to defend myself, but... well, a man still died. Um. I've also sometimes stolen food. I shouldn't, but sometimes... well, sometimes I'm hungry.

Gah, please... let's not talk about that. It's... it's just all really bad. Just bad and wrong and... please, no.

I'm doing that right now. As to where, I have no idea. I guess I'm just trying to figure that out myself. The world is vast, and I don't really have any direction. I guess I'm just trying to figure these things out.

I... don't really know any more. I used to think that everything will work out, but... well, I don't know. I'd like to still believe that, but... nothing is really working out right now in any way. I guess I'm optimistic and proven wrong. I just hope things will get better.

I don't know. I guess I haven't had much time to think about things like that. I mean, I was taught about the gods and worship, but I haven't really ever felt anything personal about it, really.

Um, I guess I have several big fears. But the largest is, probably, that it will all end like this. Just... without anything.

I... don't like seeing people suffer. I just don't. That makes me angry and sad. It's just not right. But finding a time or a place where everything's alright, even for a while, makes me happy. It just feels like there aren't enough of those times.

I don't think there are many people that are actually, really evil. But... I have seen some. I think there are both. Most are just people, though.

Um, well. I haven't really had the time or the inclination to ever pay much attention to that. I suppose I've always been someone who only needs to know what to do, not why. Just a... soldier, I guess. I don't know, it's all complicated.

Eh, well, I suppose I've done some gambling. I mean, there was some free time back in the academy, and games were quite a common way to pass that time. I picked up on a few. I suppose I'm not too bad at them. I don't really think they're too bad if you're just playing with harmless stakes. But it can probably be dangerous.
Lying and theft are more serious, I think. I mean, I guess lying for a good reason isn't terrible, and, well, I've had to steal myself, sometimes, but it's very easy to do those out of greed and not need. I think so, at least. I've seen people justify... bad things to themselves.
About killing. Well... ugh. I know that sometimes you have to do it. Sometimes things are bad and it's not always wrong, but... I don't like it. It's terrible. It's not right at all and I... I just don't like it. I don't think anyone should like it.
48. How far will you go to defend your beliefs?
I don't think I have any real beliefs that need too much defending. Eh, I guess that's kinda sad. But I've stood up to defend some things, though. Eh, I'm not proud about that, and it could have gone really badly, but... I guess I've taken a stand against things. Maybe that's important. Someone I once knew said that it is.
49. How much do you value money?
Ehm, well. I guess people often say that money can't buy you happiness or that money's the root of all evil, or things like that, but I don't think it's that simple. It would be nice if it were, but... well, money can save lives, or end them. And it can do a lot of good as well... or evil. I mean, I wouldn't ever do anything terrible for money, but I suppose I can't curse it as worthless, either. It's... important, unfortunately. Haha, and I once again have none of it. Maybe I shouldn't say anything about something I never really have...

I don't like thinking about things like that. I guess I've seen a lot of evil things, too many, but if I start making absolutes like that, then I will just be sorely dissappointed when something worse happens. Sorry, I guess that sounds quite grim...

I'll at least admit that it's very commendable. But... I don't know. I couldn't do something like that. Just... no. Maybe I'm just a coward, but I can't simply think objectively like that. Maybe... maybe you need something worth sacrificing yourself for. I'd rather not think about it.

Um, I don't know. I haven't really ever thought about it too much. I guess it's something people talk about, but... well, I don't know. It would be nice, perhaps? Though... honestly, nowadays I'm having a very hard time believing in any easy solution like that.

I guess I know more about magic and such than many ordinary folk. When you know about these things, beliefs like that don't really scare you so much any more. There isn't anyone like that, at the moment. I guess it would be good to have someone, but... well, there just isn't anyone. Eh, I guess that's pretty sad as well. But other than him, there was also my commander, Okkun. He was an old man, and strict, but he taught me a lot. Quite a lot. As did my master in geomancy, Turra Naaran. I wonder if I'll ever see any of them again. I wonder if they'd even want to see me...
58. Who is the person you respect the most? Despise the most? Why?
I respect Sordu a lot. He always knew what he wanted to do and wasn't afraid of doing it. I think that's important. I often hope I could be more like that, but... well, I'm not. Eh, I don't really have many people I really despise that much. If there's people who'd warrant something like actual despising, I try not to get to know them well enough for that.

Well, no. Like I said, I guess it would be good to have someone, but I haven't really even had time to think about something like that. I guess I'd have to settle down somewhere, first. Maybe if I ever find that place.

I had some, back in Taunar. I don't know if I could call them friends any more. But Sordu was my best friend, certainly.

Well, back in my village, I guess I got along with people well enough. Nothing special, really. Although I guess I've never really felt part of it all. Just... someone who's there. That didn't really change in the Academy.

I just try to not cause too many problems with new people. It's easier to fit in that way. I usually don't have problems with different kinds of people, I suppose.

Well, I'm not. Not any more. I just... left. After they banished me from the Academy, I never even went back home. I feel bad about that, I really do, but... well, I just couldn't go back home and be a failure. I simply left. I don't really know anything about my father's life now. I hope he's doing fine.

Uh, well, maybe? I don't know, I'd have to find a person for that first. I can't really see myself in that situation at the moment. It's just too far and too different.

A listener, I guess. I mean, of course I talk, but I'd rather know what I'm talking about. I've never been one to carry conversations by myself. Eh, my geomancy teacher taught me that it's better to listen and observe than rush in headlong. He was... he was a wise man.

Um, well. I guess it's better to keep your distance, usually. But then again, I'm, not really suspicious of people, either. I guess I take them at a careful face value? I haven't really been deceived too often, but... well, sometimes people don't care about that but still end up being not what they seem.

Not really, no. Well, not more so than anyone else, at least.

PERSONAL TASTE AND OPINIONS
77. What is your favorite pastime? Color? Food? Possession?
Well, I do spend a lot of time practicing geomancy and meditating on it, but I guess that's not really a pastime. I mean, it can be relaxing and all, but it still takes effort. I like carving and games, and I read when the chance presents itself - which isn't that often, really. Oh, and I like green. As for food, I guess I like beef... although I guess everyone likes beef. Eh, I haven't really had much experience with food, I've just been taught to eat what's on the table... which often wasn't good. Ugh.
I don't have many things, but of these, my sword is most prized. Eh, I know how it must mean, me carrying this despite everything, but... well, it's more than just a weapon. I was taught so long to use and respect this. There's, there's a lot of ideology behind this, really. I don't have anything else to even remind me of all the... better times, back then.
78. What are your preferences in arts and/or entertainment?
Eh, I guess I've never had the opportunity to get used to anything highbrow. Just common stuff. I like statues, at least the proper kind of statues.
79. Do you smoke, drink, go whoring, or use drugs? Why or why not?
Well, I drink something from time to time, but other than that, not really. I guess my master smoked a pipe of weed every now and then, but I never learned to appreciate that. And, well, it's not like I'd even have the money for the other stuff, but it's also just something I don't really do. I've... I've got enough to worry without that kind of headache, already.

I don't really differentiate days much any more, unless they're geomantically important or such. But when I have the time to relax, I guess I simply try to take it as easy as possible. Just... be and enjoy the world as much as possible. I try my best to find that enjoyment, even if it's hard. It usually is. I guess I like learning new things about new places as well.
81. What is your most cherished fantasy?
Eh, well... I suppose I often think about a time where nothing of this matters any more, some time in the far future. Or maybe if all the bad stuff had never even happened. I guess I simply wish that I could live in something that at least resembles peace, knowing my place in the world. It would be... simple. And easy.

Oh, uh, I guess I don't have trouble concentrating? I mean, I've been taught to observe rocks and plants and mud, after all, haha... I'm pretty good with that.

Well, not really. Sorry if this sounds gloomy, but... well, I guess I don't have many reasons to laugh, nowadays. It's good to laugh, but forcing it out just feels empty and hollow. Maybe I'd just like to find more reasons to laugh, first.

I think I already said that I really don't like to see people suffering. Sometimes, I'm still shocked to see how much some people can disregard others. I mean, I'm not trying to sound like a saint or anything. It's just that... it's wrong and just makes me think that I could be abused by them as well. I don't know if it makes any sense, but I often have this thought that harming one person due to blatant disregard for them is the same as harming everyone else. Just wrong.
85. How do you deal with stress?
Um, I guess I'm finding that out right now. Sorry, that's a bad joke. But really, I guess I just try to manage. Just... deal with the problems and try to find some good side to all of it.
86. How much athletic ability do you have? Artistic?
Well, I'm a geomancer. Geomancers have to be pretty fit and well, since it takes a lot of physical effort... even if it doesn't really look like it. But you really are taking part of the strain and the weight of the world upon yourself when you do it. And even part of that is quite a lot. It's just necessity, really, I don't think of it as anything else than that.
As for artistic... well, I don't know. I guess I can carve and all, but I tend to focus more on the geometric side. I guess I can make some wood cuttings for decoration and all, but I've never really tried painting or anything like that. I don't know, really.
87. Do you like animals? Do you like children?
I don't mind them, at least. I don't have any special fondness for them, not I don't dislike them either. I guess animals are useful and good to have around, and children are necessary.

Well, I'd rather make plans and be sure of things before doing them, but that's not really all that feasible, nowadays. Ehm, I guess I'm having to learn how to be spontaneous these days.

Not really, no. There was a dog that followed me around, a rather scruffy mongrel thing, but I guess it simply got fed up with that. Maybe I'll see it some day again, but it was never mine as such, really. Maybe an animal would be good to have around, but I think it would be a big hassle. I mean, it's a responsibility and requires lot of effort. I'd really just prefer to worry about myself, and not others as well.

90. What is your greatest strength as a person? Weakness?
I don't really know about strengths, but, well, I suppose I try to think things through before acting. I guess that's at least some kind of a strength. Uh, but... well, I'm a coward. No pretty way to put it. I'm a coward. I'm afraid to fight and I fear violence. I'm just a coward, and that ended up costing many people their lives. Just... a sad coward...
91. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
Oh, I'd be brave. Like Sordu, like a real warrior. Not like someone who... who panics and flees at the sight of trouble. Not someone who couldn't protect anyone.
92. Are you generally introverted or extroverted?
I guess I keep to myself a lot of the time. It's not that I don't like talking to people, or just socializing in general, but I'm not in any way great at it. Sometimes, I just need some time alone... or rather, with the whole world. But without the talking bits.

Well... no. Really, I don't. There's just so much wrong with me and with things as they are now and... just no. It's all a big mess and I'm having a hard time tolerating myself, much less actually liking. I just hope that things will be better at some point, but... I just don't know how they could be.

I tend to start my day with geomancy practices. Meditation and centering rituals and all that. It calms the nerves a fair bit. And after that, I guess I just mostly do what's to be done at the moment. It depends on where I am, really.

Um, I'm really, really not comfortable with thinking too far ahead. At the moment, I'm just trying to manage and keep things together and maybe, if I'm lucky, figure out something about this whole messy situation. I really can't put any time limits on anything right now. It's not going to happen like that, and then I'll just feel worse. If anything, I just hope that at *some* point, things will be less chaotic and less messy.
96. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? 10 years? 20 years?
That's, um, that's absolutely too far for me. I don't want to think the next year, much less the next five.

That's terrible, I really don't want to think about something like that. But, well, if I had to choose, I guess I'd want to go peacefully and quietly. In my sleep, probably.

I'd really rather not be. At least, not for any of what I'll probably be remembered right now. I'd be full of regrets if I died now and I don't really want to think about that.
